Pre Race   :  Race 8 - Tough horse to figure out what is best for him. He is going up the straight, has a good jockey on top and we are hoping he produces his best.

Pre Race   :  Race 6 - He has a nice draw over the 1400m. His work is good and I am hoping for a decent effort.

Pre Race   :  Race 5 - Nice draw. Hopefully can get into a good position and run on from there.

Pre Race   :  Race 6 - This is his 2nd run after a break. He ran well last time and has some decent form so we are hoping for further improvement.

Post Race :  Race 6 - It was the usual “2nd run after a rest” syndrome. This horse is a funny fellow but I am sure we can turn him around and get much more out of him his next start.

Pre Race   :  Race 6 - He has not run for some time. He has galloped here and put in a decent effort. Will be happy if he finishes just out the places.

Pre Race   :  Race 6 - He has a good draw over the 1400m and has freshened up nicely. It is a competitive race and I will be happy if he can earn a decent cheque here.

Post Race :  Race 6 - He put in no effort whatsoever and will go to the farm for a short holiday to freshen up.

Pre Race   :  Race 5 - He has freshened up nicely since his last run and seems to be back to his usual self. He has an ok draw and fingers crossed he reproduces his penultimate run.

Post Race :  Race 5 - He stood in the pens as the gates opened. The jockey said he pushed against the gates just before they opened which is why he did not jump on terms. He chased to get with the field but had no chance after his poor start.

Pre Race   :  Race 3 - I brought him back to the six furlong as there does not seem to be anything else suitable in the immediate future. These races are always competitive events. I should not imagine Saturday will be any different. His sprint up was good and Donovan, who rode him, was quite impressed.

Post Race :  Race 3 - This was a hugely disappointing run. I think I just backed up too soon. He does not seem to be the type of horse that can handle so many runs in short succession. We will freshen him up and I am confident he will bounce back.

Pre Race   :  Race 7 - His work at home is very good. He has the inside draw and I am hoping Bernard can get a couple on his outside to help him round the turn. If he handles the bend well, I think he is a big runner here.

Pre Race   :  Race 3 - I do believe Anton is the right man for this horse and with the one draw – provided they don’t come drifting across to the outside – he must have an outstanding chance.

Post Race :  Race 3 - He won really well. Anton gave him a really good ride. There is no reason this horse cannot win again and I also think there is no reason he cannot go round the turn. He has grown up a huge amount in the last six weeks.

Pre Race   :  Race 1 - We are going to put some scoops on and see if they help him concentrate a bit more. I am hoping for the same sort of run as last time. I feel, with some added fitness and genuineness, he can feature and be right there.

Post Race :  Race 1I thought he ran a smashing race and I was very pleased. It is great to see him running like a horse that is looking for a bit further. There is no reason he should not go round the turn and do a 1400m but I think, for now, I would like to keep him up the straight. -

Pre Race   :  Race 1 - He is doing quite well at home so I am expecting a nice run from him. I will be disappointed as if he were to run poorly as it is not a reflection on his track work. He is sensible and nicely mannered and is going well. While I am not expecting a victory, I am expecting him to finish in the first five.

Post Race :  Race 1 - He ran an absolute smasher and I am really proud of him. Hopefully we are now on the right path with him. I think he is just a big baby and I think, with a set of scoops, we can have him on winning ways.

Pre Race   :  Race 2 - One can never be entirely sure which side of the course is the best on the day but I don’t think the high draw is going to work in his favour. However, he is fit and well and, with some luck, it would not surprise me if he wins this race.

Post Race :  Race 2 - I have not picked up any obvious problems with him but will keep a close eye on him.

 Durbanville  -  01 July 2015
 Race No.  Distance  Jockey  Time

Pre Race   :  Race 1 - He has a good draw over the 1300m and if not too green first time at Durbanville, he will be in the shake up.

Post Race :  Race 1 - I think it best to draw a line through this run. He was far too keen, did not handle the turn well and was working against Bernard the whole way. He is much better than this and this was not a true reflection of his ability.

Pre Race   :  Race 1 - He has done well since his gelding. I was pleased with his first run and I think he will come on nicely here.

Post Race :  Race 1 - I was pleased with his run. He has a pedigree that suggests he should go further. After his gelding, he was given a hard prep to try and get him ready and it is now time to sit back and train him like a proper racehorse. He is one we all like so hopefully there is a decent future for him.

Pre Race   :  Race 1 - He is doing very well at home and we are all pleased with him. Although he might just need the one run, I definitely think he will finish in the top four.

Post Race :  Race 1 - He ran well. Although the first three were well clear, he ran on best of the rest and I was happy with his effort. He has now been gelded and I think we will see a different horse.
